Pork Dumplings

I have been playing with my new steam oven a fair bit lately, and my latest dumpling experiment turned out to be so easy and delicious! You could just as easily steam them in a steamer basket on the stove if you don’t have a steam oven, so don’t let that put you off. The toddler loved these too (a rarity at the moment) so this one was a great family dinner. You could serve with rice, salad, noodles, whatever you like! I served these with a teriyaki soba noodle salad, which was actually delicious on its own so I’ll post the recipe for that separately.

(This recipe is low FODMAP, so you could always add onion and garlic if you like.)

Ingredients

500g pork mince (feel free to replace the pork with chicken or turkey mince, or use a combination)

25 (approx) dumpling wrappers (you will find fresh dumpling wrappers in the fresh pasta section of the supermarket)

½ cup fresh basil

½ cup fresh parsely (I used combo of flat leaf and curly)

½ cup fresh coriander

1 tsp pureed ginger (I like the ‘always fresh’ brand, but use fresh if you like)

3 spring onions

½ tbs teriyaki sauce

1 tbs soy sauce

1 tbs sweet chilli sauce

freshly cracked pepper to taste

Method

Blitz all ingredients (except pork and dumpling wrappers) into a smooth paste.

Combine the paste with the mince and stir with a fork until well combined.

Place 1 tbs mixture in the centre of the wonton wrapper, moisten the sides of the wrapper with water, and fold up. (I made mine into little square parcels but you can do anything you like).

Steam @ 100C for 10 minutes in a steam oven. (Alternatively steam on the stove using a steamer basket).

Enjoy!
